Express Expands Operations
Press Release Franklin, TN – January 19, 2012
Express Courier International, Inc., a Riverside company, has added EagleOne Logistics to its platform. The combined companies will provide time-sensitive regional delivery services to the Southern United States. EagleOne is based in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and services customers in nine states, primarily in the Southeast.
"EagleOne and Express operations overlap throughout a number of key areas, so the combination improves route density and customer service while helping Express expand into new geographies and add new customers," said Riverside Managing Partner, Loren Schlachet. "This further solidifies the company's leadership position in the same-day delivery segment throughout the Southeast while helping the company grow."
The acquisition allows Express to expand operations into the Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri markets. Express is a clear market leader in same-day deliveries in the South, with an extensive delivery network of routes throughout its footprint which will now stretch across 10 Southern states. Similar to Express, EagleOne served a range of customers in the pharmaceutical distribution, managed care, home health, auto parts, banking, laboratory and hospital, and office supply industries.
"Adding EagleOne is a big step forward for our company," said Express President, Chuck Moyer. "It makes us a more efficient and effective provider of courier services while adding valuable customer accounts and expanding operations into new markets. We look forward to working closely with the EagleOne team to enhance the service offerings and technology available to our clients."
Scott Maddox, VP of Operations for EagleOne commented, "We are pleased to be joining the Express team. Their resources, IT support, financial backing, and commitment to excellent customer service will really help us continue to grow our business and serve our customers more effectively."
The combination of the two companies' talents, experience and resources will greatly enhance their position in the market place; assuring customers receive superior service for all their logistics needs. Express enthusiastically welcomes this opportunity to expand their footprint to better serve their valuable customers.
EXPRESS NAMES NEW PRESIDENT WITH FOCUS ON GROWTH AND RELATIONSHIPS
In an economic downturn, Express has opened new markets, added additional warehouse space in existing markets and expanded its fleet across the Southeast to over 1,200 vehicles.
Express has focused its attention on providing their current customer base with ‘Best in Class’ service and value while taking advantage of special opportunities through creative new strategies that foster growth and build customer and employee loyalty.
“Growing in tough economic times doesn’t mean being conservative. Our team has hunkered down and focused on the basics, including service quality and relationships”, said Chuck Moyer, President of Express. “2011 will be a strong year for Express and although we haven’t ignored conventional wisdom, we have decided to be aggressive in reviewing M&A as well as organic growth opportunities while investing in research and development to position us for 2012 and beyond.”
Express Enhances Leader Position in Southeast through Acquisition: Same-Day Courier Company Alliance1 Joins Express Courier Platform
June 6, 2011 Franklin, Tennessee
Express announces the acquisition of Alliance1, a same-day courier based in Nashville, TN. This acquisition strengthens Express’ position in the same day logistics market and their leading position in the Southeast. The combination of companies provides additional route density, improved customer service, and increased market share.
Alliance1 provides same-day courier services throughout Tennessee, including routes to Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Jackson and the Tri-Cities. Alliance1 serves a range of customers, primarily in the pharmaceutical distribution and medical lab industries. Express and Alliance1’s complementary core competencies will enable the combined organization to provide customers with a complete spectrum of services and technology for both expedited and reliable transportation within the Southeast.
This deal cements Express’ leadership position in Tennessee and offers many advantages; with increased route density, the combined companies will serve more customers more effectively than ever before. This is an excellent strategic fit and offers our current customers additional value.
“Given the route overlap and similar nature of our businesses we anticipate a seamless integration that should leave customers of both firms even better served,” said Express President Chuck Moyer. “We’re excited about becoming even more effective.”
